Goodbye, 4 Leah 2016!!

December18

This is my last post to all of you, my amazingly awesome 4L-ers of 2016!!

It has been an absolute pleasure to be your teacher this year, and I will miss you all so much next year, so make sure that you say “hi” to me in the playground, or anywhere else that we may bump into each other. You have all enriched my life so much this year, and I want to thank you for making Grade 4 Leah a truly wonderful class! πŸ˜‰Β

I hope to see you on Tuesday, and look forward to spending time with you during the day. There may also be some goodies in store for those of you who are there, too! πŸ˜‰

Enjoy your day off tomorrow, and I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday,

This is our last full week together…….

December11

Hi 4 Leah,

Well, we’ve come to our final full week together in what has been an amazing year as 4 L!! πŸ˜‰ You are all amazing kids, who have enriched my life so much……and I’m so proud to have been your Grade 4 teacher!! πŸ˜‰ As I said in last week’s post, you should all be so proud of yourselves for what you’ve achieved this year!! And yes, also for blitzing the Science PAT test that you did last Thursday!! GO GRADE 4 LEAH!! πŸ˜‰

I look forward to our last full week together……I’m sure that there’ll be tears either at the end of the week, or when we officially break up next Tuesday…….or maybe both!! πŸ˜‰

I hope you all had a magnificently wonderful weekend, and I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow,

Leah πŸ˜‰

Christmas is nearly here!!

December4

Hi 4 Leah,

Well, it’s already December, and that means that Christmas is just around the corner!! It also means that we only have a couple of weeks left together as 4 L………so let’s make the most of our time together, and have a wonderfully fun time together! πŸ˜‰Β

I have to say that you should all be so proud of yourselves for how far you’ve come this year….not only in your school work and how much you’ve learnt, but also with the friendships that you’ve made and how much you’ve grown in maturity.Β I am so proud of each one of you. You’ve made my life so much richer and I have to say (and I know that I’ve already said this to many of you already!), I am really going to miss you next year. You are all amazing young men and women, and I feel very privileged to have been your Grade 4 teacher. I can’t wait to see what you do next year in Grade 5, with so many more opportunities open to you, such as the Young ICT Explorers, peer mediation, applying for leadership positions (Cupcakes and, at the end of the year, school leadership positions), and so much more!! As the saying goes, the world is your oyster!! So, embrace it and go and do amazing things!! I will be cheering for each one of you at the sidelines!! πŸ˜‰

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow,

Leah πŸ˜‰

It’s Week 7 already!!

November13

Hi 4 Leah,

I cannot believe that we’re into our seventh week of the final term in Grade 4 already!! This term (and year!) has gone by so quickly! I’m actually starting to get a bit sad about this, as we only have 4 and a bit weeks left together before you’re off into Grade Five…….;-( But let’s not dwell on that today, as it also means that we have four and a bit weeks left to really enjoy ourselves and make lots of wonderful memories! πŸ˜‰

This week, we’ll be saying goodbye to our Pharaoh Hugo as he relinquishes his role of leader in the class. I must say that I’ve been very impressed with how fair he has been as a leader. Hugo, you are certainly displaying amazing leadership qualities! Keep it up! πŸ˜‰

I hope you all had an amazing day on Friday, when I was slaving over Β your reports. Did you help Kate with the Prep to Grade 3 Sports Day? I’d love you to send me message or two about what you did. πŸ™‚

I hope you’ve all had a wonderfully relaxing weekend and are ready to get back into lots of learning (and fun!) tomorrow!

Looking forward to seeing you then,

Leah πŸ˜‰

Let’s get back to commenting!!

October31

Hi 4 Leah,

Right…..hands up who’s written a comment on our blog lately? What? No hands? That’s right……it’s been a while since someone from the amazing 4L has written a comment on our blog, so I thought that I would create something that will entice you to do it. So, for everyone who writes a thoughtful comment (for example, telling me about what they did on Halloween/ Cup Day, or something related to your learning), you will have the option of getting a card out of the Reward Box or choosing something from the Prize Box. That’s right…….so get cracking, as I’ve missed all of your insightful and interesting comments on our class blog.

Waiting in anticipation,

Leah πŸ˜‰

P.S. If you went trick or treating for Halloween, I hope you were thoroughly spoilt!! I saw lots of amazing costumes on my way home from school today….I wonder if any of them were you? πŸ˜‰

It’s Week 3 already!!

October16

Hi 4 Leah,

I can’t believe that we’re about to start our third week of Term 4!! That means that we only have about 8 weeks left together in Grade 4! That makes me a bit sad, as it also means that we’ve got 8 weeks left together. πŸ™ But let’s not dwell on the sad part……..let’s look instead at the positives………we’ve still got a wonderful 8 weeks to enjoy each others’ company together!! πŸ˜‰ And that’s something to celebrate!! πŸ˜‰

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend after an exhausting soccer gala day on Friday. I saw one of the boys’ teams play (very briefly), and I was so impressed with their skill and prowess………well done, boys!! πŸ˜‰

Before I sign off, don’t forget to start organising your Literacy Day costume. I’ve heard that there’s going to be at least one Queen of Hearts on the day, and maybe even a Cruella Deville ………I’d love to know what you’re planning on coming dressed as. Send me a comment or two! It should be a wonderful day! πŸ˜‰

Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow,

Leah πŸ˜‰

Welcome to Term 4!!

October2

Hi 4 Leah,

I hope you’ve all had a wonderfully relaxing holiday, and are ready to get back into lots of learning (but also loads of fun!) this final term of Grade 4! πŸ˜‰ We’ve got so much planned for this term, including a fabulous Science incursion, plusΒ TWO excursions at the end of the year. Yes, that’s right……TWO EXCURSIONS!! πŸ˜‰

It’s going to be an exciting Term 4, as we’ll be finishing off our ‘Whizz, Fizz, Pop!’ Chemistry unit (this week, we’re making slime!), starting a Geology unit later in the term, plus learning all about who governs our country and how the rules that make our society run smoothly, are made. So much learning….And let’s not forget all of the amazing Maths units that we’ve planned!!

I’d love to hear about what you did during your holidays, so send me a comment or two.Β

Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow, after your two week break,

Leah πŸ˜‰

For those of you who are already on holidays (Hugo – I think my ticket got lost in the mail!! πŸ˜‰ ), or who are about to go on holidays early this week (Finneas and Finn), stay safe and enjoy your time with your families and friends. For the rest of you who are hanging around until Friday, make sure you all enjoy your time with your families and friends, too. And stay safe!! πŸ˜‰

Congratulations on your terrific performance at the Music Concert!!

September4

Hi 4 Leah,

Congratulations to all of you for your fantastic performance at last week’s Music Concert! I am so impressed with your musical abilities……..who knew that we had such talented musicians in 4 L?? I hope your parents thoroughly enjoyed it, too. πŸ˜‰

This week is another SUPER busy week, with the Grade 6s having their dress rehearsal performance on Tuesday after lunch, where we will get to see what they’ve been working on. And then on Wednesday afternoon, we have the great privilege of seeing what Hugo, Louie, Nick and Finn worked on for the Tournament of Minds performance a couple of weeks ago.

I hope you’ve all had a wonderful weekend!Β

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow,

Leah πŸ˜‰
