Goodbye Spencer!

June12

Hi 4 L,

Well, this is Spencer’s last week with us before he jets off on his exciting new adventures in France…for two years! πŸ˜‰ Let’s make the most of the short time that we have left with him, and make sure that he knows what a great friend he has been to all of us. πŸ™‚

To farewell Spencer, we’re going to have a celebration on Friday, but you don’t need to bring any food, as it will be provided.Β

Spencer, it has been wonderful having you in our class this year, and we will miss you a lot. Enjoy your adventures in France, and we hope to hear from you throughout the year! πŸ˜‰

Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow,

Leah πŸ™‚

Can you believe that we’re more than half way through Term 2?

May28

Hi 4 Leah,

I hope you’re enjoying the last weekend of Autumn, before we get into the chilly temperatures of Winter! It has certainly been a rather cold weekend. I’d love to know what you did this weekend to keep warm……..send me a comment or two!! I look forward to hearing from you!! πŸ˜‰

I don’t know about you, but I can’t believe that we’re nearly mid-way through the year. It’s crazy how fast this year is going!! πŸ˜‰

This Friday, I won’t be at school, as I have professional learning day in Flemington. But, you’ve got Aoife, who most of you will know pretty well. And there won’t be any issues, anyway, as you’ll still be doing most things with Jeremy’s class, as we do pretty much every day. So, I hope you all have a wonderful time, and I look forward to hearing all about it when I see you back at school on Monday. πŸ™‚

Until tomorrow,

Leah πŸ˜‰

It’s Week Three already!!

April30

Hi 4 L,

I don’t know about you, but I can’t believe that we’re about to start the third week of Term 2 already! This year is just flying by!! πŸ˜‰

I’d love to know what you’ve been doing this past weekend…….did you play sport, or go out somewhere special, or celebrate a special birthday? Send me a comment or two…..it may even get you some table team points!! πŸ˜‰

I hope you’ve all had a fabulous weekend!! Don’t forget that STOMP Dance starts tomorrow….so get those dancing shoes on! πŸ™‚

See you then

Leah πŸ˜‰

Enjoy your SUPER long weekend!!

April25

Hi 4 Leah,

I hope you’re all having a fabulous long weekend!! Did anyone go away? I’d love to hear about what you did. πŸ˜‰

This week, you’ve got the ANAM excursion on Wednesday, where you’ll be leaving school Β at 10.55am. You’ll be going with Michael, Rachel and Dora, plus all of the Grade 5 students and their teachers. I’m sure that it’ll be great fun, as well as extremely educational!

I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow,

Leah πŸ˜‰

Welcome to Term 2!!

April17

Hi 4 Leah,

I hope you’ve all had a fabulous holiday and are ready to get back into lots of learning…….but also, some fun mixed in there, too! πŸ˜‰ I’d love to know what you did during the holidays, so send me a comment or two. I look forward to hearing from you! πŸ™‚

Well, we’re getting right back into everything tomorrow, with a spelling pre-test to start the day off. Yes, I knew that would make your day!! πŸ˜‰ There are so many more things that you’ve got to look forward to this term, too, such as our exciting Integrated Studies unit, where you’ll be learning about the different systems in the body, our thrilling Science unit (all about geology), and not to mention excursions and incursions.

I hope you’re looking forward to a great term together, in our not-so-new-any-more classroom! πŸ™‚

See you all tomorrow,

Leah πŸ˜‰

Enjoy your holidays!!

April1

Hi 4 Leah,

Well, we made it!! πŸ˜‰ Yes, after aΒ very busy week, which included movingΒ classrooms, we made it to the end of term!! πŸ˜‰ I hope you’re all enjoying your first official full day of holidays!Β

As I said yesterday, before we went to Assembly, I have loved getting to know all of you this year so far, and am looking forward to getting to know you even better next term. You are all such wonderful kids, who have enriched my life, even in this short amount of time. I have seen a number of you really step up (particularly in this past week), and take on what I would say is like a leadership role, in welcoming two new students to our class. So thank you for taking on this responsibility, and for showing incredible friendship and such a caring attitude. πŸ˜‰

I hope you all have a fabulous holiday over the next two weeks! If you do log on to the blog, I’d love you to send me a comment or two about what you’ve been doing during your holidays. πŸ™‚

Oh, and have a wonderful Easter, too!! I hope the Easter bunny spoils you all rotten!! πŸ˜‰

I look forward to seeing you all on the 18th April, in our (not so new anymore) classroom!!

It’s Week 8 already!!

March19

Hi 4 L,

Wow! Can you believe that we only have two more weeks left of Term 1? Time has just flown by this term!! πŸ˜‰

This week, there is so much on, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to fit it all in this post. Let’s see how I go:

  • Tomorrow, we’ve got the French excursion, so don’t forget to bring your Myki card;
  • On Tuesday, it’s the JSC Fundraiser, Tour de Cure, so make sure that you wear the brightest clothes that you have, and bring a gold coin donation;
  • It’s also Ride to School Day on Tuesday, so get our your bike, scooter or skateboard, and “ride to school!” ;-);
  • On Wednesday, you’ve got the Alpha Theatre Company’s performance of Beauty and the Beast, whilst your parents are meeting with me to discuss your progress this year;
  • On Thursday, we’ve got an exciting Science incursion, which ties in with our Magnetic Moves Science unit;
  • And on Friday……well, there’s no Assembly, so we’ll have some time to get deeper into our Science unit in the afternoon.

Phew! What a busy week! πŸ˜‰ I’d love to know what you did this weekend……were you busy, or did you have time to relax? I hope you all had a wonderful time, whatever you did! πŸ˜‰

Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow,

Leah πŸ˜‰

Just a couple of reminders for next week, as you’re not back until Wednesday:

  • There will be no spelling pre-test this week BUT there will still be a post-test on Wednesday.
  • Make sure you bring your Reading Journal and Spelling homework book on Wednesday, too. πŸ™‚

I hope you all have a fabulous super long weekend! I look forward to seeing you all back at school on Wednesday,

Can we win the lucky jar competition?

February28

Hi 4 Leah,

Well, the time has come again to get your creativity working overtime, and get cracking on making your lucky jars for the fete! πŸ˜‰ Well done to all of you who have contributed to our lucky jar collection….to date, I think we have about 30, which is fabulous, but 6 Nick has 55 jars!! Whoa!! Can we match or out do them? I think we can! Let’s see if we can win the school competition, remembering that the prize includes icecream at Jock’s! There aren’t many days left, so I’m putting out the challenge to all of you to make at least 5 jars each……..can we do it? I think we can!! πŸ˜‰ Impress me, 4 L!!

Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow,

Leah πŸ˜‰

It’s already Week 4 of the term!!

February19

Hi 4 Leah,

I don’t know about you, but I can’t believe that we’re already into Week 4 of Term 1!! Camp seems like a distant memory, even though it only finished a week and a half ago. Can you believe that it’s already been that long? πŸ˜‰

I’d love to know what you did on the weekend, and maybe even do some reminiscing about camp. I’ve heard from Kobe, but I’d love to hear from the rest of you, too. I’ll give you some time this week to get familiar with the blog, and I may even get our “expert” Kobe to show you how to write comments on it. πŸ˜‰

Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow (and don’t forget to bring your reading journals!)!

Leah πŸ˜‰
